Intro to TT, 15/50 Hours

A new format for 2026. This October, Mariza guides you through 15 hours of live online workshops covering anatomy, philosophy and the breath.

Cost: £150

For a 50-hour training with certificate, you can join us in Chamonix 5–8 November, for an additional £340.

How it works

Each online session lasts three hours: an introduction to the theme, followed by a guided practice with Mariza. Take it as part of Teacher Training, or on its own if you want to go deeper into your practice and learn more than a 60-minute class can offer.

The full 200 hours

Our 200-hour qualification includes:

5 x live online sessions

Weekly live yoga classes

Gentle reading and podcast recommendations

Together these make up 25 hours of pre-course work before we meet in Chamonix in November.

Module 1 · The Bones

We will spend time learning and feeling the bones in our own bodies and those of the people around us. We will learn how these bones are structured, how they fit together, and how they get stronger or weaker as we go through life. We will identify the bony landmarks of the body: why these are relevant for us as yoga teachers, and how they help us to connect with our students.

Practice one: moving from the bones

Module 2 · The Muscles

The different types of muscles found in the body, how they work and move, and the ways in which yoga impacts the muscles. We will explore how muscles are made, the ways they attach to each other and to the bones, and the types of movements they can make. In this session we will learn the muscles of the lower and upper leg, pelvis and hips, lower and upper torso, arms and hands, head and neck, and feet.

Practice two: muscles in movement

Module 3 · Intro to Asana

Where it comes from, how it has evolved, and what vinyasa means. We will explore the difference between yoga and other types of movement. We will come back to the bones and take a deep dive into the spinal column and pelvic girdle, and understand the importance of these bones in a healthy yoga practice. Our first pose: tadasana.

Practice three: standing balances

Module 4 · Prana & the Breath

How do we breathe? Why are so many of us breathing badly? And how does "bad breath" affect us in daily life? The difference between breathing in daily life and breathing during yoga. What is happening at the chemical and physiological level when we breathe? What does prana mean, how does it travel in the body, and why is the concept of prana so important in yoga?

Practice four: watching the breath

Module 5 · The Nervous System

A deep dive into the vagus nerve according to Jessica Maguire, including sympathetic vs parasympathetic nervous systems, and dorsal vagal, ventral vagal and polyvagal theory. We will discover how the practice of yoga activates and soothes the nervous system, creating a sense of safety on and off the yoga mat.

Practice five: self- and co-regulation through the practice of yoga
